The FC's Golden Locks UPDATE

Monday UPDATE: 6 for 6 with the glamour trophies, 21 for 24 overall. Not too shabby as the Oscars made nary a major misstep throughout last evening, splitting picture and director, handing its top prize to the most worthy film: 12 Years a Slave. Gravity took home the most trophies with seven, sweeping the technical awards as expected, though Captain Phillips' strikeout was a minor surprise. Joining the good captain in the nada category was American Hustle, recipient of 10 nominations, failing to land the lone Oscar I had earmarked for the '70s crime caper, original screenplay. The countdown to 2015 starts now.

Man alive, the Oscars' process way too long. Having seen all of tonight's nominees no less than three – in some cases six – months ago, forgive me for being a bit bored with the whole thing as I've already turned the page to Oscars 2015 with an early lock for a best actor nom, the masterful – and riotous – Ralph Fiennes in The Grand Budapest Hotel. With tedium noted, here are my picks for this evening's festivities at the Kodak Dolby Theatre.
